Procedure for Admission into Private School of Nursing for GNM Course (2025-26 Academic Year)

Based on the anticipated GNM Nursing Notification Telangana 2025, the following are the detailed procedures and eligibility criteria for admission into Private Schools of Nursing.

I. Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit:

The candidate must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2025.
There is no upper age limit for admission to the GNM course, as per the Indian Nursing Council (INC) guidelines.

2. Educational Qualifications:

Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board/body. The specific streams accepted are:

(a) Science Stream: 10+2 with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English, with an aggregate of 40% marks.
(b) Arts/Commerce Stream: 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) or Commerce with English, securing at least 40% marks.
(c) Vocational Stream: 10+2 in Health Care Science - Vocational stream only, with 40% marks.
(d) ANM Qualification: Candidates who have passed the Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) course of 18 months and are registered with the State Nursing Registration Council are also eligible. They are exempted from 6 months of training per INC regulations.

3. Medical Fitness: Students must be medically fit.

II. Important Dates

Start of Online Application & Fee Payment: September 26, 2025
Last Date for Online Application & Fee Payment: October 17, 2025
Last Date to Submit Hard Copy to DM & HO: To be announced post-merit list. (Candidates must check the official website for this deadline after applying online).

III. GNM Nursing Application Process

The application process for both Convener Quota and Management Quota seats is online.

Step 1: Payment of Registration Fee

Pay a non-refundable registration fee of ₹300/- (Rupees Three Hundred Only).
Payment can be made via a Government Challan at the State Bank of India under the following Head of Account:
- 0210 – Medical & Public Health
- 03 – Medical Education Training & Research
- MH 105 – Allopathy
- SH (81) - Other receipts
- 001 - Other receipts.

Step 2: Online Application Submission

Visit the official website of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Telangana: http://dme.telangana.gov.in.
Fill out the online GNM Nursing application form available from September 26, 2025, to October 17, 2025.
Upload all required documents, such as educational certificates, proof of age, and a recent photograph.

Step 3: Submission of Hard Copy

After successfully submitting the online form, download and print the filled-in application.
This hard copy, along with self-attested copies of all necessary documents, must be submitted in person or by Registered Post to the concerned District Medical & Health Officer (DM & HO).
Note: The deadline for the hard copy submission is 18.10.2025. The department is not responsible for postal delays.

IV. Important Note

Admissions for the GNM Nursing Course are conducted once a year. All students, parents, and aspiring candidates for GNM Nursing in Karimnagar, Warangal, Adilabad, Nirmal, Asifabad, Bellampalli, Jagtiyal, Sircilla, Siddipet and other districts are advised to regularly check the official DME Telangana website for the latest updates, merit lists, and any extensions to the notification dates.

GNM Admission Notification for the academic year 2023-2024

PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION INTO PRIVATE SCHOOL OF NURSING:

1) AGE:- The minimum age shall be 16 years completed and enter 17th year as on the 1st December of the year and shall not have completed 35 years of age. The upper age limit is 35 years and as per INC Notification No.11 of 2023 issued vide F.No.1-6/LT/2023-INC, Dated 21.08.2023 there is no upper age limit

2. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have passed XII class OR Intermediate or its equivalent examination preferable with Science subjects. As per the G.O Ms No: 410 HM &FW (K2) Dept, Dated: 28.11.2008, MPHW (F) candidates who have passed ANM course of 18 months are eligible for admission into GNM course and they are exempted 6 months duration in GNM course subject to the condition that they shall undergo the revised training programme as laid by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.

1 Minimum Educational qualification:

(a) 10+2 class passed preferably Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) & English with aggregate of 40% marks.

(b) 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/ English elective or Health care Science – Vocational stream only, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSC/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.

(c) 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the Schools and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks

(d) Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.

2. Students shall be medically fit.

3 Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination or Health care Science – Vocational stream only conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks

4. Students shall be admitted once in a year.

Extension of admission notification

In continuation to the GNM admission notification issued by this office vide reference 1st cited, upon receipt of several oral requests and representations from Telangana Nursing Schools Managements Association, Hyderabad vide reference 2nd cited and in view of the INC Circular issued in the reference 3rd cited, the admission date for online payment for registration and uploading of online applications for GNM admissions for 2023-2024 academic year is extended from 23.09.2023 to 30.09.2023.

I. SUBMISSION OF ONLINE GNM ADMISSION APPLICATIONS: On line Application form for Convener Quota seats / Management quota seats are available in the Director of Medical Education, T.S., Hyderabad official website i.e., http://dme.telangana.gov.in and the same is available from 02.09.2023 to 16.09.2023.

Step: 1: Pay registration fee of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Two hundred only) through a Govt. Challan crediting to the following

Step: 3: Download / Print the filled in application form and submit the same with necessary enclosures to the concerned District Medical & Health Officers either in person or by Registered post with due acknowledgment for both Convener and Management quota seats. The downloaded applications should reach the Office of the DM & HO’s concerned on or before 21.09.2023 by 5.00 P.M. (for convener quota seats) For Management quota seats and Convener Quota seats the last date for Payment of registration fee / submission of online application / Downloaded filled-in an application is 21.09.2023 at the Office of the DM & HO’s concerned. The Department will not be held responsible for any postal delays for non receipt of applications on or before the stipulated date i.e.,21.09.2023 by 5.00 PM.

BEGNM GNM ADMISSION NOTIFICATION FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2022-23

GNM Admission 2022-23 2nd extension

In continuation to admission notification issued. The admission date for online payment for registration and uploading of online applications for GNM admissions for 2022-2023 academic year is extended from 16.11.2022 to 25.11.2022 and the last date for submission of filled in applications at concerned DM & HO’s is 26.11.2022 by 5.00 PM.

General Nursing Application form 2022-23 1st extension

Online admission Application form is available in the Director of Medical Education, T.S., Hyderabad official website and the same is available from 01.10.2022 to 24.10.2022.

G N M Course Eligibility

1) AGE:- The minimum age shall be 16 years completed and enter 17th year as on the 1 st July of the year and shall not have completed 35 years of age. The upper age limit for the candidates belonging to SC, ST and BC’s is relaxable by 3 years.

(a) 10+2 class passed preferably Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) & English with aggregate of 40% marks.

(c) 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the Schools and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks

(d) Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.

2. Students shall be medically fit.

3 Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination or Health care Science – Vocational stream only conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks

4. Students shall be admitted once in a year.
